We work with schools, families, and educators to advocate for policies and practices that support public education and to provide tutoring and other support services to students who need them. We believe that by working together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive education system that helps all young people reach their full potential.
What we’re looking for: State Chapter Coordinators
Saphron Initiative is seeking dedicated and visionary individuals to take on the role of Chapter Lead within our dynamic organization. As a Chapter Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading the establishment and growth of local chapters that encompass both advocacy and tutoring branches. This role is pivotal in extending the reach and impact of Saphron's mission to ensure equitable and inclusive education for all youth. Chapter Leads will receive sustained support from the Saphron National team to drive transformative change within their communities.
Responsibilities:

- Chapter Establishment: As a Chapter Lead, you will play a critical role in setting up new local chapters of Saphron Initiative. This involves identifying passionate individuals within your community who are aligned with our mission and vision. You will guide and inspire them to form cohesive teams that work on both advocacy and tutoring initiatives.
- Advocacy and Tutoring Coordination: Overseeing the dual focus of advocacy and tutoring within your chapter, you will ensure seamless collaboration between the two branches. This involves fostering a holistic approach to education justice, where advocacy efforts inform tutoring support and vice versa.
- Community Engagement: Chapter Leads are the face of Saphron within their respective communities. You will engage with schools, families, educators, and local organizations to build partnerships and alliances. This outreach is essential for raising awareness about education inequities and garnering support for our cause.
- Leadership Development: Nurturing leadership within your chapter is crucial. You will provide guidance and mentorship to your team members, empowering them to take ownership of their roles. This includes fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
- Strategic Planning: Working closely with Saphron National, you will contribute to the development of strategies and action plans tailored to your chapter's unique context. These plans will encompass both short-term and long-term goals for advocacy, tutoring, and community impact.
- Reporting and Communication: Regularly communicate progress, challenges, and successes to the Saphron National team. This includes providing insights into the local education landscape and the impact of your chapter's initiatives.
- Expansion and Promotion: Once your chapter achieves its goals and demonstrates effectiveness, you will have the opportunity to create additional regional chapters under your leadership. As you continue to excel, you will be considered for promotion to the role of State Director, where you will oversee a network of chapters. Alternatively, exceptional Chapter Leads will also have the option to join the Saphron Board of Directors, where you can contribute to shaping the organization's strategic direction.
