First, our mission:

Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to high-quality public education. We believe that all children, regardless of socio-economic status or background, deserve the opportunity to receive a quality education that meets their unique needs and prepares them for success in college, career, and life.

We work with schools, families, and educators to advocate for policies and practices that support public education and to provide tutoring and other support services to students who need them. We believe that by working together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive education system that helps all young people reach their full potential.

What we’re looking for: Advocacy Organizers

Saphron Initiative, a youth-led education advocacy organization, is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their nationwide team as Advocacy Organizers. As an Advocacy Organizer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the cause of education justice and equity, contributing to a transformative movement that seeks to create a more inclusive and equitable education system across the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborative Advocacy: As part of the joint team of organizers, you will work collaboratively with like-minded individuals who share a common vision of educational reform. Rather than adhering to rigid assignments, you will have the freedom to bring your own innovative ideas and approaches to the table, collectively striving towards the shared goal of education justice.
• Engaging with Elected Officials: Advocacy Organizers will have a unique opportunity to meet with elected officials at various levels of government. Through these interactions, you will advocate for policies that prioritize equity, access, and quality in education. Your efforts will amplify the voices of young people and their perspectives on public education policy.
• Organizing Digital Advocacy Forums: In the digital age, online platforms provide a powerful tool for advocacy. As an organizer, you will play a vital role in creating and leading digital advocacy forums, where critical issues in education will be discussed and addressed. These forums will serve as a platform for engaging a broader audience in meaningful conversations about education justice.
• Building Organizational Partnerships: Collaboration is key to effecting significant change. Advocacy Organizers will actively seek to build partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including students, educators, policymakers, and community organizations. By fostering these alliances, you will strengthen Saphron Initiative's capacity to tackle the challenges facing education systems today.
• Mission-Driven Leadership: At the core of your role is a commitment to the mission of Saphron Initiative - advocating for education justice and equity. You will be actively involved in developing strategies to further this mission and contribute to the overall growth and impact of the organization.

Advancement Opportunities:

Advocacy Organizers are integral to Saphron's operations and success. As a result, exceptional organizers who demonstrate dedication and exceptional leadership skills will be highly valued and favored for advancement within the organization. There are possibilities for assuming positions on the Board of Directors and other higher-level roles, where you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the organization and shape the future of education advocacy.
