First, our mission:

Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to high-quality public education. We believe that all children, regardless of socio-economic status or background, deserve the opportunity to receive a quality education that meets their unique needs and prepares them for success in college, career, and life.

We work with schools, families, and educators to advocate for policies and practices that support public education and to provide tutoring and other support services to students who need them. We believe that by working together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive education system that helps all young people reach their full potential.

What we’re looking for: Program Instructors

Saphron Initiative is a youth-led education advocacy organization that operates on two branches: advocacy and tutoring. As a program instructor, you will have the opportunity to work directly with students across the United States alongside Saphron’s stakeholders and help create an equitable education system across our country.

Responsibilities:

• Content and Curriculum: As a Program Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to develop engaging and innovative course content and curriculum, tailored to the needs and interests of our diverse student community. We believe in empowering our instructors to be creative and resourceful, allowing you the freedom to choose the most suitable format for your teaching. In the past, instructors have used Google Slides, online whiteboards, and educational games to connect with students.
• Individualized Learning: At Saphron, we value a student-centric approach. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, recognizing the unique abilities and needs of each student. This requires you to be flexible and adaptive in your teaching style, modifying your approach to ensure all students have equal opportunities to succeed.
• Managing Logistics: As a Program Instructor, you are responsible for communicating all logistical details with students' parents/guardians, ensuring a smooth and rewarding learning journey for each student. This encompasses proactively addressing any scheduling conflicts that may arise, collaborating with parents/guardians to find suitable solutions, and encouraging students to come prepared and motivated for every lesson.
• Collaborative Engagement: Collaboration is key to effecting significant change. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other instructors to share best practices, exchange ideas, and contribute to the overall growth and success of our educational programs. You will also get the chance to work with our team as a whole to help plan events and activities throughout the year.
• Assessing Progress: You will be actively involved in tracking and evaluating the academic progress of our students. Through regular assessments and evaluations, you will gain valuable insights into each student's strengths and areas for improvement. We encourage fostering a growth-oriented learning environment, empowering students to overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements.

Advancement Opportunities:

Program Instructors are integral to Saphron's operations and success. As a result, exceptional instructors who demonstrate dedication and effectively provide in-depth and engaging lessons will be highly valued and favored for advancement within the organization. There are possibilities for assuming positions on the Board of Directors and other higher-level roles, where you will have the opportunity to manage a department and influence the direction of the organization as a whole.
